Psychological preparation for UNT

Oddly enough, no one specifically teaches the ability to pass tests, however, the corresponding psychotechnical skills are very useful. They not only increase the effectiveness of preparation for tests and exams, allow you to behave more successfully during the test, but generally contribute to the development of mental work skills, the ability to mobilize oneself in a decisive situation, master your own emotions, etc. The UNT procedure requires high concentration, concentration of attention, thoroughness and accuracy, high mobility: it is necessary to quickly switch from one task to another.
When discussing the psychological equipment of the process of passing tests, it is necessary to distinguish 3 main stages:
1. Preparation for the test, study of educational material before the test;
2. Behavior on the eve of testing;
3. The behavior itself during the test.
How to prepare for exams, testing:
In order not to lose your head in a crisis situation, you must not set yourself super tasks to achieve beyond your goals.
Do not wait until the situation becomes catastrophic. You need to start preparing for testing in advance, little by little, in parts, keeping calm.

If it is very difficult to assemble with strength and with thoughts, you should first remember the easiest, and then proceed to the study of difficult material.

Daily regime

Divide the day into three parts:
- prepare for exams 8 hours a day;
- go in for sports, take a walk in the fresh air, go to a disco, dance, that is, take time for outdoor activities;
- sleep at least 8 hours; if there is a desire and need, make yourself a quiet hour after lunch. 

How to remember a large amount of material

Repeat material on questions. First, remember and be sure to jot down everything you know, and only then check the correctness of dates, basic facts. Reading the textbook, highlight the main thoughts - these are the main points of the answer. Learn to write a short answer plan separately for each question on small pieces of paper. On the last day before the exam, look through the sheets with a short answer plan.
Some patterns of memorization
1. The difficulty of memorization is growing disproportionately to the volume.
A large passage is more useful than a short dictum.
2. With the same work, the amount of memorized is greater, the higher the degree of understanding.
3. Distributed memorization is better than concentrated. Better to learn intermittently than in a row, a little bit better than immediately.
4. It is more effective to spend more time on repetition from memory than on simple multiple reading.
5. If you work with two materials - large and smaller , it makes sense to start with more.
6. In a dream, a person does not remember, but does not forget.

The third term is closely related to the first and second - this is the fight against stress factors. Stress is a way of responding to changes in environmental conditions. For normal operation, you must learn to adapt to changes and requirements of life circumstances. This is due to both physical and emotional well-being. With acute stress, a person is less well-versed in the surrounding reality, he is anxious, he is filled with fear, his ability to concentrate attention, remember, and think is reduced. In chronic stress, when a person lives for a long time in constant tension, overwork without the ability to recover, he is more susceptible to various diseases, his mental abilities also decrease. During exams, as a rule, a person experiences excitement. This is a normal condition that helps to mobilize at a crucial moment. If you worry too much or understand that it is especially difficult for you to be in a stressful situation, do some breathing exercises. Long inhalation through the nose and exhale through the mouth; exhale is two times longer than the inhalation. Learn to relax your body by exercising for several minutes every day. You will feel how anxiety gradually goes away, and consciousness becomes clear. Learn to give yourself small pleasures during the day: treat yourself to something tasty, make a new hairstyle, talk with a person who is pleasant to you.
          

On the eve of the exam, make a plan - how much material you need to go through every day and adhere strictly to your plan. Work intermittently, do not overwork.

During breaks, move more (take a walk, dance, do physical exercises, sing) or try to relax (breathing exercises, meditation, relaxing exercises, short sleep). Do not strain your eyes and spine - they will still be useful to you!
On the eve of the exam you need to get enough sleep. Make clothes - business and comfortable, in which you yourself like, and which will fit into an official event. Think about how to give yourself the look of a confident person, usually it gives support and helps to cope with stress. Set yourself up to the challenge. On this day you are not alone, with you thousands of your fellow citizens. In addition, it is useful to remember that your loved ones are worried about you, they wish you good luck and take on most of the anxiety.

On the day of the exam.

Before the exam, they are not advised to overeat. Try to get out of the house a bit early so you don’t worry about being late. Before entering the office do not communicate with people who are very overexcited, step aside, tune in to be focused, and do breathing exercises.
In the office where the exam will take place take a look, “get acquainted” with your workplace, in a familiar environment, anxiety is reduced. After you are handed out assignments, look at those levels of assignments for which you are applying. Do not be alarmed if you do not immediately understand all the tasks, as you begin to carry them out, starting with the lighter ones, productivity increases and complex tasks become clear. If at some point you felt that it became difficult for you to concentrate, you shouldn’t be afraid either, some people experience a decline in work, followed by recovery. In such a situation, those same breathing exercises will come in handy again: a deep breath through the nose, then a slow exhale.
After you have written everything, take your time to hand over the work.

Postpone the work - “seal the envelope”, look out the window or at your own hands, after a minute - “get” your work and re-view it.

Even if you didn’t pass the exam the way you expected, react to it correctly.
It can be terribly insulting and you will feel miserable - give these feelings the opportunity to be experienced - experience them. And remember that this situation can be corrected, it is not fatal, it will pass and you will have enough victories in life.
